Football Unites: From Supporting Local Clubs to the FIFA World Cup

For MBANK, the development and support of sports culture has long been an important part of its corporate philosophy. The bank invests in promoting football at every level across the country — from supporting the local football club FC Asia to becoming the official sponsor of FIFA World Cup 2026™ broadcasts.

"We know how eagerly people in Kyrgyzstan are waiting for this World Cup, and we understand the challenges of broadcasting matches from North America due to the significant time difference. As a leading fintech brand, our goal is to give fans the opportunity to stay at the heart of the action, share emotions, and support their favorite teams. We are proud to unite the entire country around this global celebration of football," MBANK representatives noted.

104 Matches Live: Tournament Format and Broadcast Highlights

One of the most significant changes in FIFA World Cup 2026™ is the expansion of participating teams from 32 to 48. This major step has completely transformed the tournament format.

New Group Structure

Instead of the traditional eight groups, the tournament will feature 12 groups of four teams each.

Additional Knockout Round

The knockout stage will now include 32 teams rather than 16. The top two teams from each group, along with the eight best third-placed teams, will advance to the playoffs. As a result, a new Round of 32 stage has been added.

Record Scale

Instead of the 64 matches played at previous World Cups, fans will enjoy 104 exciting matches over 39 days.
