More Than 150 Volunteers and 65 Liters of Hope: Large-Scale Blood Donation Drive Held in Bishkek for World Blood Donor Day

12 June 2026

A blood donation campaign took place in the capital today in honor of World Blood Donor Day, officially observed on June 14. The event was held at Technopark and organized with the support of MBANK employees and the Republican Blood Center.

More than 150 people joined the initiative. To make the process as convenient as possible, a mobile medical team from the Republican Blood Center came directly to the venue. After undergoing the required medical screening, 127 volunteers successfully donated blood, collecting a total of 65 liters of this life-saving resource.

Such initiatives have become a regular tradition for MBANK and Technopark. Organizers noted a significant increase in participation: compared to December of last year, the number of donors grew by 42 people.

For MBANK employees, participating in this campaign is no longer just a corporate tradition but a genuine expression of compassion and social responsibility. Everyone who donated blood that day shared not only a part of themselves but also their care and support for those facing difficult circumstances.

Why Is It Important?

Donated blood is a strategic resource that cannot be artificially produced. It is needed every day to save lives. However, in Kyrgyzstan there are only 13 donors per 1,000 people, while the World Health Organization recommends 40 donors per 1,000 people. This initiative helped reduce that gap.

Technopark provided a professional and safe environment for blood donation, while the MBANK team supported the campaign through personal participation. Bank employees donated blood alongside other residents of the city. For many of them, it was a simple way to demonstrate civic responsibility, knowing that their contribution could help save someone's life.

“I have blood type IV. This was my first experience as a donor, and I am very happy that I decided to do it. It feels great to know that even a small amount of my blood can help save someone's life. I believe this is something important and meaningful for everyone who has the opportunity to help. Everything went very smoothly and was not painful at all,” shared Indira, one of the campaign participants.

Doctors also remind people that blood donation benefits donors themselves. It stimulates the body's renewal processes and helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Thanks to the comfortable conditions created directly at the workplace, employees were able to express their civic engagement and contribute to saving lives without being away from work for long periods of time.
